"There is no science which teaches the harmonies of nature more clearly than Mathematics."
-Paul Carus
Pre-Calculus prepares students to be successful in AP Calculus next year. During the year we retouch on many skills learned in Algebra 2, including topics such as: quadratic, polynomial, logarithmic, exponential, and rational functions; finding roots of functions; and graphing functions.
We also work with trigonometry in this course. We go beyond the basic three trig functions that are learned in Geometry. In this course, the students will learn: how to use all six trig functions, how to measure angles in radians, how to work with the unit circle, and how to prove trigonometric identities.
We will finish the year with a brief look at limits to lead into a calculus course next year.
