"The science of mathematics presents the most brilliant example of how pure reason may successfully enlarge its domain without the aid of experience."
-Immanuel Kant
This second year of Algebra is largely about the study of functions. We work with many kinds of functions, including linear, quadratic, higher polynomial, exponential, rational, radical, logarithmic, and piece-wise functions. With each of these, we learn to use transformation to turn parent functions from any family into any function in that family. We also work with their equations and graphs.
Honors Algebra 2 goes farther than that. We also have an introduction to matrices, a unit on probability and statistics, and a unit on conic sections.
