"At Tenafly High, I was lucky to have some dedicated teachers; I'm especially indebted to my calculus instructor, Francis Piersa, who opened my eyes to the striking beauty of mathematics."
-Eric Maskin
This is an introductory calculus course. Calculus is foundational in many college majors and careers, including engineering, physics and most other sciences, and mathematics.
In this course, we will explore limits, derivatives, integration, and infinite series. We will be looking at finding these mathematically, using graphs, and applying them to real world situations.
There are a couple ways to receive college credit for this course. Students can take the AP test in May. A high enough score on that test will earn them credits for most colleges nationwide. Students can also sign up for the College in the High School Program and earn 10 Everett Community College credits for successfully completing the course (Math&151 and Math&152). If you have questions about either of these, feel free to ask your teacher about them.
