The Stanford Continuing Studies Program is a phenomenal opportunity located right here at Stanford University that offers 400 evening/weekend courses annually, principally in the liberal arts, for adult members of the community. Tuition & scheduling vary by course. Keep an eye out for courses taught by GSB instructors that mirror courses taken by MBA students. In the past, there was a course that reflected the Leadership Lab experience and another course called Interpersonal Communication that was similar to Interpersonal Dynamics (or “touchy feely”).
In most cases, an individual must be accepted to Stanford University and a specific degree program to be eligible to take classes. Every department has its own policy on non-matriculated students taking classes. Most partners opt to take classes from the Stanford Continuing Studies Program (see above) which allows you to enroll in classes without being on a specific degree path. Enrollment in Continuing Studies is open to anyone in the community and you pay for each course that you would like to take.
The GSB does not allow partners to audit courses in the MBA & MSx Programs. We encourage partners to look for offerings in the Continuing Studies Program (see above) that are taught by GSB instructors.
Similarly, the GSB does not allow partners to attend or participate in Global Experiences programs as these are comprehensive immersive learning experiences designed for the participating student cohort. Only Global Experiences Official Program Participants may participate in these programs in any part for their full duration.
Located in Los Altos Hills (just a 15-minute drive from campus), Foothill Community College offers a wide range of academic and vocational classes.
The School offers classes on job development, health and fitness, personal finance, parent education, and more. They also offer classes on English as a second language (ESL), including some which meet right here on campus at Escondido Village.
Known formally as the Bass Center, the GSB library is a great place to tuck away for a quiet meeting or to get some work done.
The Center includes an art gallery, auditorium space, and classrooms. The gallery showcases regional artists and offers seasonal displays, and the art center provides classes.
