To apply to attend an Advanced Training course, follow the steps below:
The document on the top of this page is the WINTER 2023 Training Guidance which contains many IMPORTANT items you should be aware of. The way you apply to trainings is NEW and the paperwork you bring is NEW. Please familiarize yourself with the NEW PROCESSES and see your unit Training Officer or CO with questions or help with the application process.
Here are some additional items to consider BEFORE applying for a quota:
Can the Cadet handle the course you want to take? Please review the "About" section of your desired course to understand the demands of these courses.
Are you eligible? The Quarterdeck registration page shows the respective requirements to sign-up.
COVID Info - NAVSTA Newport has eliminated COVID vax requirements you may have seen in recent years. You are referred to COVID travel guidance as provided by the CDC for current travel policies (link can be found with the above Training Guidance document).
The PRIMARY Parent as listed in Quarterdeck must have an active online account to sign a Cadet up for training.

These are the Course Training Codes to look for in Newport, RI this winter:
Petty Officer Leadership Academy: The training code is NP-RI-2301 (Under Leadership)
Emergency Medical Seminar: The training code for SEA CADETS is MJ-RI-2301 and LEAGUE CADETS LH-RI-2301 (Under Medical/Health)
Register for the course in Quarterdeck then your registration will be set to SUBMITTED.
The Training Command will change your registration to CONFIRMED if you meet the requirements, once CONFIRMED THEN mail your payment.
Payment Options:
No electronic payment option is available this year and no personal checks will be accepted.
Mail a cashier's check or money order for $175, payable to "Sea Cadets TG-NE-02" to:

All checks and applications must be processed by December 16th, however quotas will be all filled on a first-come, first-serve.
Do NOT mail payment unless your registration shows CONFIRMED first.
WHEN PAYMENT IS RECEIVED & IF YOU ARE ALREADY CONFIRMED, YOUR QUOTA WILL BE CHANGED TO APPROVED.
Only if/when your quota is APPROVED, make travel arrangements and prepare for training.
