Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

Māori language week.

This week (not next week as the video says), is Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori. 

As we celebrate this beautiful language, we will also explore the definitions of our school values. The first is Whanaungatanga. 

Let's break this word down:

Au - you. Knowing yourself. What you love, what you need, what feels great to you.

Whānau - your family, your friends, your classmates, your teammates.

Whānaunga - The relationships you have and the connections you have made.

Whanaungatanga - Actions that provide connections and a sense of belonging.

Let's connect today! Come along and join in the scavenger hunt at lunchtime. Your mission is to find the ono (6) clues around the kura (school). On each clue there is a red letter at the start of the kupu (word). Match this letter to the te reo number on the sheet. Some letters are used more than once. So you might see 'tahi' in two places. Pop the same letter in those two places.

When you have completed the hunt, drop your form back to Room 13.

This mission might need some tuakana teina. So if you are finding the hunt easy, see if you can help someone who needs it.
