AP|Cambridge Seminar

Course Description (from AP|Cambridge Capstone Curriculum Framework)

In this year-long Seminar, students develop inquiry skills, through writing, reasoning, and collaboration. Students explore topics of global relevance from multiple perspectives. Students practice the skills of developing a research question in the Seminar, as this is an essential skill needed in Year Two.

During the Seminar, students must complete the following Capstone tasks:

· A team project

· An individual presentation

· A written examination

Course Goals

· Develop an understanding of the multiple perspectives and interdisciplinary connections of global issues

· Foster respect and sensitivity for the multiple perspectives

· Develop an independent outlook through self-reflection and evaluation of competing perspectives

· Deconstruct an argument by identifying its premise and conclusion and evaluating its coherence

· Develop disciplined and scholarly research methods

· Cultivate an interdisciplinary perspective
