How Do I Get Extra Help?

Successful students work from bell to bell during class time and ask for assistance  as soon as they discover that they do not understand a concept or need additional time.  Requesting help during the lesson is the most important step when learning.

Students should also use the resources we provide as they work.  Many times they can help themselves by using the resources listed below while completing their work.

1. The Interactive Notebook is made by the students during the lesson cycle.  It is designed to provide examples, samples, opportunities to reflect on learning, and practice skills needed to be a successful learner.  They are supposed to refer to it like notes to help them complete their work.

2. Students will keep their handouts and worksheets in a pocket folder this year.  It is important that they USE the folder to store their papers.

3. Anchor Charts are posted on the classroom walls highlighting core content and skills or steps students should follow while completing their work.  Students should refer to the Anchor Charts often!!  There is also a content specific word wall for vocabulary.

3. High Dosage Tutoring will take place on Wednesdays after school from 4:30-5:30.  These tutorials are by invitation or recommendation only as they are targeted to specific content or skills each week.  Tutoring will begin in October.

4. Please contact me if your student is in need of additional support outside of the classroom.  We will schedule a time or set up a time to meet on Google Meet.
