Compare Contrast Peer Review

Make three copies for peer review

1) Writer does not speak!!!! No explaining or justifying anything in the essay!!!!

2) Someone other than the author reads the essay aloud while other group members follow along.

3) Evaluate essay according to Compare Contrast Essay Rubric

a. write reviewer's name and author's name on front of rubric sheet

b. on the back of the rubric score each area and explain in two sentences why you gave it that score. Also include one specific example from the essay for support.

4) Everyone in group BUT the author discusses scores given, reasoning, and examples, working through the rubric one section at a time while the author listens and takes notes.

5) Author has the opportunity to ask ONLY questions and listen and take notes, but cannot make comments are engage in discussion or debate with the reviewers.

Note: should have book chosen for senior project. Can be fiction or nonfiction. If fiction it cannot be young adult literature. Book must be 250 pages or more.
