Thank you for your service to Saint Louis University.
Service Award Gifts
Employees are formally recognized for every five (5) years of continuous service. On their milestone anniversary date, employees will receive an anniversary e-card from Royal Recognition. Each month, managers will receive service award packets for employees within their department celebrating a milestone anniversary. Managers will then present the service award to the celebrants (managers see tips below).
Description of the service award packets for each year are described below:
Employees celebrating 15+ years of service at SLU are invited to visit SLU’s Employee Recognition Center to select their item from the catalog. You will need your Access Code to log into the site, which can be found in your service award packet materials, or in emails from Royal Recognition.
If any errors are discovered upon receipt of a service award packet, please contact the office of Human Resources at (314) 977-2358 or email hr@slu.edu.
Tips for Managers
Service award packets are distributed monthly to the managers of the employees with anniversaries each month. Managers will receive an email from Royal Recognition notifying them that an employee in their department has a milestone anniversary and that they can expect to receive the service award packet.
Managers are encouraged to use these guidelines when presenting a service award packet.
Service Award Breakfast Events
Employees recognized for 10+ years of service are invited to attend a breakfast ceremony during their service year anniversary:
Presidential Service Award Photograph Wall
Photographs of current employees with 25 years of service or more are displayed in DuBourg Hall, 2nd floor. All current employees, regardless of which campus they primarily work at, have their photos displayed in DuBourg Hall.
Legacy Wall
When employees, who have a photo on the Presidential Service Award wall, pass away, retire, or leave SLU in good standing, their photo is moved to the Legacy Wall. The Legacy Wall on the North Campus in DuBourg Hall on the second floor includes employees who primarily worked on the North Campus. The Legacy Wall on the South Campus in the Learning Resources Center on the first floor includes employees who primarily worked on the South Campus.

Service Award Accrual Information
Full-time employees are recognized for their continuous years of service at SLU.
If an individual is not employed by SLU for over 1 year, their years of service will restart when they return to SLU. The years before the gap of over 1 year will not be included in their continuous years of service.
If an individual is not employed by SLU for less than 1 year, their anniversary date will be adjusted to reflect their accrued service, taking into account the gap in which they were not an employee.
