Born August 24, 1951 in Richmond, Virginia, Orson Scott Card has been a volunteer Mormon missionary in Brazil, a senior editor at Compute! Books, and a teacher at various universities and writer's workshops. His works have been translated into over fifteen languages, and his plays have been produced in regional theatre. Ender's Game won the 1985 Nebula Award and 1986 Hugo award. Card has won numerous fantasy and science fiction awards for other works.
