I am learning to...

  1. I can read and say the phoneme/sound for the lower and upper case letters c k ck j qu v w x y z zz ff ll ss. I can identify double letters and how they represent the same sound e.g. will, off

  1. I can identify and read the tricky words too, she, he, be, for, her

  1. I can read two-syllable words e.g. buck/et, lem/ons, pic/nic and that double letters make one sound in each syllable but one sound at the end of a word e.g. rab/bit, bucket, muffin. I can read and understand compound words e.g. in/to

  1. I can confidently blend vc, cvc and cvcc words (v= vowel, c= consonant). And I am beginning to do this automatically or in my head.

  1. I can understand and respond appropriately to some basic punctuation; Possessive apostrophes and know that proper nouns start with a capital letter.

When you touch the word it will read it for you. I want to you try really hard to put your finger underneath and say the words, blend them together to read the word.
