I am learning to...

  1. I can read and say the phoneme/sounds th/th ch ng sh ai ee igh oa oo/oo. I know that a digraph is two letters that make one sound.

  2. I can identify and read the tricky words; me, are, they, you, we, all, as, you, they, are, have they, was, out

  3. I can identify and count how many syllables are in a multi-syllable word

  4. I can recognise adjacent consonants (two or more consonants that appear next to one another within a word and they represent a different sound) e.g. stop - the 'st' are adjacent consonants because they appear next to each other and but also they spell two different sounds. /s/ and /t/.

  5. I can read parts of the text fluently using phrasing, intonation and expression. And I can retell the story/ book using my own words.
