I am learning to...
I can read and say the phoneme/sound for the lower and uppercase letters s a t p i n m d. And I can identify that the lower and uppercase letters sound the same.
I can identify and read the tricky words ‘I, is, the’.
I can use early book handling skills; follow left to right across the page, point underneath each word, turn the page carefully using my thumb and finger and recognise parts of the book e.g. cover, title.
I can say a word out loud, listen and segment a word to count the sounds using my phoneme fingers or counters e.g. sat s-a-t (has 3 sounds)
I am beginning to blend vc, cvc and cvcc words (v= vowel, c= consonant) by putting my finger underneath the word and pointing to each sound as I say them, then run/slide my finger under all the sounds as I blend them to read the word.
Record your voice (on Seesaw) reading these tricky words.
Go to this app and read one book
When you touch the words the iPad will read the story to you.
I want you to have a try at saying the sounds and blending them together to read the word first.
