1. Circulation policies: A book may be checked out one at a time. The student must bring his/her library card with the library book in order to
swap. The book may be swapped the same day up to 2 weeks. The only exception is in preparing for the school reading fair w/ a note from your
parent.
2. Fines: If the book becomes lost or damaged, payment is required for the student to check out another book and/or receive his/her report card at the end of the year. If the book is found, a refund will only be given if the book is returned within 2 weeks, and the student must show receipt of payment (per MES office).
3. The Reading levels are as follows: * 0.3-0.9 (K) pink labels * 1.0-1.9 (1) yellow labels * 2.0-2.9 (2) green labels * 3.0-3.9 (3) red labels * 4.0-4.9 (4) purple labels * 5.0-5.9 (5) orange labels * 6.0-6.9 (6) light blue labels * 7.0-7.9 (7) light green labels * 8.0-8.9 (8) light pink labels * 9.0-9.9 (9) light purple labels
Students are to check out books that are on their reading level as designated by the STAR reading test or iReady assessed in August. Students may also match Lexile numbers when choosing a good book for class. The numbering on the inside of the front book cover will give them the correct level. The levels run from BR- 1399 within our library. There will be a color coded sample given to each teacher when this will begin.
