2025 has started with the final mechanical components disassembled and ready for rebuild. Outside of taking apart the bodywork, there shouldn't be (knock on wood!) too many more rusty bolts to remove. I mean, what else is there? Here's where we're at:
Rear axle: done, just need to run brake lines, solve the shock mounting problem, and fit the axle check straps.
Front axle: waiting on a decision on brakes and a swivel ball. Diff is done and suspension mounted, but nothing else is complete.
Bodywork: outside and in my basement. We'll get to it.
Interior: same same.
Steering: working on this. Not sure if I'll be able to do power steering -- I hope so.
Transmission & Transfer Case: rebuilt unit purchased, gaskets purchased, just need to stick it all together and test. Will need to speedi-sleeve the front and rear output flanges as those are worn. Need to buy a military rear propshaft.
I have 5 wolf wheels purchased that will need to be sandblasted and powdercoated. That's coming at some point.
... but this year's focus will be, I think, on getting the engine & gearbox finished and in place. Hence: motivation!
