Orchestra Karate:
This is a fun game all orchestra students will learn starting in fourth grade. The goal of this game is to help students begin to memorize the note names of the musical staff their instrument plays in.
For the "Line Notes" of the staff students use chops ascending and descending in the air (High chops for the top of the staff and lower chops for the bottom notes) .
For the "Space Notes" studenst use punches in the same style as the chops.
*Associating the ascending and descending movements with the note names of the staff will help students to gain a deeper understanding of the note names.
Rules of Orchestra Karate:
No hitting your Neighbor or supplies (Just the air in front of you)
Keep a consistent tempo
No one is too cool for orchestra karate ;) ( Make sure to have fun!)
