Problems logging in

Getting started - Usernames and passwords

To access the University services you will need to log in using your student username and password which will be issued when you are fully registered. Please ensure that you make a note of your password which will appear on screen during the registration process.

Once you have registered you will need to log in using your student username and password NOT the username you created when you registered. Your University username will typically consist of; 3 e.g. nrp, nra, nrq, 2 digits relating to the year you registered and your initials. So an example username might be 'nra14jcd'.

If you know your username and password, please go straight to the Accessing University Services page to find out how to log in.

Having problems logging in?

If you are unsure of your username and/or password you can reset them online. Follow the instructions on the guide below. If you have logged into MUSE and there are no services listed, it is likely that you have logged in using your pre-registration username.

Username and password

If you are still unable to log in you should contact the IT Services Helpdesk on 0114 222 1111 or email helpdesk@sheffield.ac.uk who will be able to help you.
