Clone Stamp Tool
Duplicate pixels from one area of an image to another; effective for repairing imperfections, removing unwanted objects, and duplicating elements.
CLONE = Copy
Stamp = PASTE
The clone stamp is like an actual stamp. A stamp picks up ink and places it somewhere else.
The clone stamp tool CLONES (or COPIES) information then PLACES it where you want.
Open the image in your editing app.
Select the "Create a New Layer" Icon
Label your new layer "Clone Stamp"
In tool presets:
Brush hardness at zero
Opacity 100%
not too large
On the original layer (layer WITH image) hold down the option key (Windows: alt key) and click once on the information that you wish to copy.
LET GO! BOTH HANDS UP.
Click on the new layer "Clone Stamp" layer
CLICK where you wish to place the copied pixels. Then drag while holding down and see how you are creating another tree!
Practice AGAIN by duplicating a cloud.
Place it in an area that looks realistic, that's the goal!
File save 2 TIMES!!!
FILE >SAVE A COPY >FORMAT: JPEG (turn in on Canvas)
FILE >SAVE AS > FORMAT: PSD (keep saved on your desktop)
If you finish early here is your challenge...
Using the tools we just learned (clone stamp and spot healing), make a CYCLOPS portrait.
What is a Cyclops?
A cyclops is a Greek mythical creature who likes to eat sheep.
Find a portrait you have taken.
Open it in PS.
Go to Layer > New > layer
Think about your steps...
What you need to copy first? (which tool to copy?)
What do you need to cover up next? (which tool to blend?)
