Take 5 images in a row with a distinct horizon. Take a picture, turn slightly, keep the horizon line, take a picture, repeat... You are only pivoting on an axis.
How to load photos into pano.
Open PS.
Go to File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack.
Click on BROWSE and select the 5 (or more) images you took for the panorama.
Make sure to click on "Attempt to Align Source Image"
5. Crop your image
6. click on the top layer.
7. Make a new layer
8. Use the spot healing brush and clone stamp tool to smooth out any edges in the image.
*** Click sample all layers
9. ONLY if you are having issues with the panorama image, go to Image > Canvas size > make the image wider.
10. Save it as a #_Panorama_LastName FirstName. JPG
Tah-DAH! Watch them load into one panorama.
Now that you have a panorama, you are ready to make a cool planet.
STOP. Save Pano as JPEG.
CLOSE Photoshop.
STOP. Save Pano as JPEG.
CLOSE Photoshop.
Open up your panorama image (one that is longer than it is high). Follow the steps below to have the best chance of a cool looking planet:
Open the saved Panorama jpg in PS. ( You can do this by going to File > Open > Pick your panorama JPG.)
1. Use a panorama that looks similar on both edges (the closer the edges match, the less work you'll do later)
2. Flip the panorama 180 degrees by going to Image> Image rotation > 180 degrees.
3. Go to Image >Image Size > click RESAMPLE and UNLINK the width and heigth box. In DOCUMENT SIZE enter 12 in by 12in at 300 ppi.

Go to Image >Image Size > click RESAMPLE and unclick constrain proportion box. In DOCUMENT SIZE enter 12 in by 12in at 300 ppi.
Hit return. The image should be distorted and square.
4. Then, for the big effect, select Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates.
To blend the layers together, go to Layer > New Layer. Make sure Sample All Layers is selected at the top of tool bar.
Wow! See the planet and fix it in PS as you see fit using the clone stamp or bandaid tools.
EXTRA
For added fun on the fly, take a multiple exposure of a friend using the panorama feature on your phone. Instruct your subject to run out of the frame, behind you, to a new position to have multiple versions of the same person.
* NOTE If you shoot from below, your subject will appear as spokes from your planet.
