Select a photo of yourself and upload it to PS as the background layer.
(Click open image > finder > load image) or drag it into the photo icon
1. Select the layer you want to edit
2. Duplicate your layer (Command J)
3. Select the 1/2 circle icon at the bottom of your layers box
4. Scroll and have fun!
Threshold is in your adjustment layers.
This means, when you add this layer, you can turn it on/off. We are using non-destructive workflow.
Threshold effect is like making a stencil from your image. It turns your image black and white with NO GRAY!
You can adjust your threshold by sliding the arrow.
You can change the color of your threshold effect if you click on the threshold layer and merge it down. (Command and E)
With only one layer now, add the channel mixer adjustment layer to play and change your colors. Play with the color sliders to adjust.
Go to the bottom of the layers toolbar and select posterize.
** You will need a High Resolution image to do this!!!**
Next go to layer Adjustments > Hue and Saturation.
Play with the individual colors to change your image to a color you want! PLAY WITH IT!!!!

Your filter gallery has some amazing effects you can play with!!!
THE CHANGES WILL BE PERMANENT. Therefore, before you begin, DUPLICATE THE LAYER you want the effect applied to!!
Click through the different effects, each effect can be adjusted with the sliders on the right hand side.
You can have MULTIPLE EFFECTS by clicking the button highlighted below. This allows for even COOLER EFFECTS!!

Pick 1 portrait that you have taken!
Open it in PS
Apply MULTIPLE EFFECTS, and different filters to the image
Save each effect as effect 1-6 JPG
Then, Drag all 6 images onto ONE handout.
No 2 effects can be the same in your handout. Make sure to try multiple effects in the gallery, make sure all your image have 2 effects on them.
Line them up to re-create the face cohesively
Use these photos and apply multiple effects to them to create different looks.
