What: Find, observe, discuss and use tools used in the professional realm to make more dynamic photos.
How: Hands on manipulatives/ magazine warm-up activity finding the rule applied in the "real world". In-class discussion, guided practice, then independent practice where you go out and take images using the rule of thirds. .
Why: The rule of thirds is used all types of art. It is important to know and understand tools that be can be used purposefully to create a more dynamic image.
Find an image in a magazine
Fold you image like this:
What falls along the lines, and on at the axis?
Now go out and photograph 5 images where the subject matter purposefully falls on the rule of thirds.

On your LCD screens, you can use the display mode and see the GRID -or rule of thirds- to help guide you when taking your photos.
To show the grid on your screen, you must
Click on the MENU button.
Click SET.
This will help you take a photo using the rule of thirds.
*If you shoot on display, you can't see through the view finder.
