Design, Visual, and Media Arts Pathway

The Design, Visual, and Media Arts pathway includes those occupations that use visual or performing art, digital media, and Web-based tools and materials as the primary means of communication and expression. In addition to an understanding of current workplace practice, this career pathway requires the development of knowledge and skills in both visual and performing art concepts as well as new and emerging digital processes by which individuals are able to create and communicate complex concepts in a broad range of occupations and professions. In addition students in the performing arts of theatre learn all aspects that is involved in production from lighting, sound, costume and makeup.

Journalism and Broadcasting Pathway

Individuals pursuing a career in the Journalism and Broadcasting Pathway have various areas of concentration in which they can place their focus of study. News analysts, reporters and correspondents gather information, prepare stories and make broadcasts that inform us about local, state, national and international events; present points of view on current issues; and report on the actions of public officials, corporate executives, special interest groups and others who exercise power. Broadcast and sound technicians install, test, repair, set up and operate the electronic equipment used to record and transmit radio and television programs, cable programs and motion pictures. Chief engineers, broadcast field supervisors and transmission engineers supervise the technicians who operate and maintain broadcasting equipment.

Therapeutic Services

Individuals pursuing a career in the Therapeutic Services Pathway are focused primarily on changing the health status of the patient over time. Health professionals in this pathway work directly with patients; they may provide care, treatment, counseling and health education information.

Product Innovation and Design Pathway

The Product Innovation and Design pathway provides students with an understanding of the design and manufacturing technologies common to careers in the fields of product design and manufacturing. Representative topics include the product design and development process, the principles of design, computer-aided design, fabrication and manufacturing processes, sustainability, and the principles of business, entrepreneurship, and global design. Students can also learn computer-aided manufacturing.
