Pathways in the Arts, Media, & Entertainment field provide students with the opportunity to learn about the ever-growing array of new media forms. Students who are interested in applying their artistic talent to practical real-world problems or who want to be a producer, director, journalist, website designer, video game modeler, 3D animator, and multimedia artist can explore their interests and find the right career path for them.

Design, Visual, Media Arts & Animation Pathway
The Design, Visual, Media Art, & Animation Pathway includes those occupations that use visual art, digital media,
Web-based tools & Animation as the primary means of communication and expression. In addition to an understanding of current workplace practice, this career pathway requires the development of knowledge and skills in both visual art and animation concepts as well as new and emerging digital processes by which individuals are able to create and communicate complex concepts in a broad range of occupations and professions.
Students who are enrolled in the pathway also prepare for careers within the game design industry and in related technical fields. Students will develop foundational knowledge in animation, graphics, and computer software and hardware. They will apply skills in Mathematics, Physics, English Language Arts, Social Science, and Entrepreneurship. Most importantly, students will learn the twenty-first century skills of creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and technical expertise, which will increase employment capacity across the job market. In the Design, Visual, Media Art, & Animation Pathway students prepare for both entry-level employment and additional postsecondary training needed for advancement in a highly competitive industry.
Journalism and Broadcasting
Individuals pursuing a career in the Journalism and Broadcasting Pathway have various areas of concentration in which they can place their focus of study. News analysts, reporters and correspondents gather information, prepare stories and make broadcasts that inform us about local, state, national and international events; present points of view on current issues; and report on the actions of public officials, corporate executives, special interest groups and others who exercise power. Broadcast and sound technicians install, test, repair, set up and operate the electronic equipment used to record and transmit radio and television programs, cable programs and motion pictures. Chief engineers, broadcast field supervisors and transmission engineers supervise the technicians who operate and maintain broadcasting equipment.
