LET'S PLAY POOL!
Monday - 10:00 am - 3:45 pm
Wednesday - 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Thursday and Friday - 10:00 am - 3:45 pm
We are now playing Hand & Foot, Pinochle, Hearts, Kings in the Corner, SkipBo, Phase 10, Yahtzee, Farkle, Triominos, Dominos, Mexican Train Dominoes, Rummikub, Qwirkle, Scrabble, just to name a few. Enjoy friendly card games or other games. We have members who are playing games every day and would LOVE to have you join them.
Need a refresher course or want to learn? The players are always willing to teach you the game they are playing or help you remember how it is played. If you want to play a card or board game, let us know and we will attempt to get it organized. Not all games are played every day. . . but if members can get a couple of people who want to play any game, they are welcome to use our facility and equipment.
The front room comes alive with fun and laughter.
Bingo is fun . . . being with people is fun. Regular games are 5¢ a card per game. Blackout (the last game of the day) & the $20 prize games are 10¢ a card per game. Play as many cards as you want. On most games you win whatever we collect, and on some games we offer gift certificates or gift items as prizes (their values are more than the cash collected). We have 2 games where we offer a chance to win $20.
Get a FREE Bingo Game Card every Monday & Thursday when you bring a can or box of non-perishable food for the Stayton Food Bank. Let’s all help feed our hungry in our community. You could even be a Bingo Winner!
10:30 am - Chair Yoga for Seniors
Chair yoga is a form of exercise for seniors. It may help people with certain health conditions, such as arthritis, to exercise without putting pressure on joints. It may also reduce the fear of falling, and help people who are not used to exercise to begin improving their strength and balance.
Tai Chi can decrease the number of falls, fall risk and fear of falling. Also it has shown to benefit Parkinson's patients and visually impaired seniors. Slow, low-impact movements that emphasize weight-shifting and postural alignment. Movements progress from easy to more difficult. No special clothing is needed. This class is offered free to SSC members.
Newcomers Welcome. We play single deck. (double deck on Friday) We will help you learn or just refresh your skills. We have a good time playing a friendly game of cards and visiting.
Whether you already know how to play or want to learn how to play, this is the place to come. We always have a lot of fun together...come join us!
Join us in quilting. Experienced, novice, or wanting to learn...we would love to have you as part of our group.
Come join in the fun (and get a little exercise while you're here)!!!
