Physics - 8th Grade
This main lesson constitutes an ontological study of electromagnetic force as a means to experience concepts in physics pertaining to force, magnetism, electromagnetism, and energy.
Students perform a series of investigations with materials and instructions provider by the teacher. They maintain a science notebook that includes observations, experimental results, and course notes. Assessment is based on the level and quality of investigative performance and the science notebook.
Day One: Introduction to the science lab, introduction to forces, first lab activity on pushes and pulls using spring scales and masses.
Day Two: Second and third lab activities on pushes and pulls using spring scales and energy cars; questions.
Day Three: Introduction to friction, fourth lab activity on friction, questions, short quiz
Day Four: Introduction to magnetism,
