We had an amazing second week of Caraway Academy. Students were able to dive into learning as they explored topics they chose and discussed during the previous week. Some students learned how to create healthy yogurt parfaits, others explored volcanoes, and some used design skills to build cup towers. These are just a few examples of the great things that happened during Academies. This student’s quote really sums up the entire experience this week and the overall goals of Caraway Academy,

Here are a few more of the Acadamies students chose to participate in:
Shapes in Art is led by Mrs. Byrne and Mrs. Icossipentarhos. Kindergarten and first grade students will utilize shapes to create art.
Silly Snacks is led by Mrs. Harvey and Mrs. Meyer. Kindergarten and first grade students will work to create and eat silly snacks that match topics of study. This week students talked about spiders and made spider themed snacks.
STEAM Challenges is led by Mrs. Rinehart. Second and third grade students will work together to solve STEAM challenges each week.
Pet Palace is led by Mrs. Gonzalez. Second and third grade students will meet many different types of pets, while they work to help pets in the Austin area. This week students met unique Bantam chickens!
Body Flow is led by Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Dobbins. Third and fourth grade students will explore fun ways to exercise and better their bodies through running, yoga, stretching, and nutrition. Rumor has it that a yoga instructor is coming to work with them next week!
Healthy Chef Academy is led by Mrs. Baggerly and Mrs. Buchanan. Second through fifth grade students will research and learn about healthy foods which fuel their bodies. This week students make yogurt parfaits.
Bird Watching Basics is led by Mrs. Marshall. Fourth through fifth grade students will learn how to identify birds and attract them to their backyard.
