A goat, a yoga instructor, and an author walked into a school…and then a volcano exploded!
That sounds like the beginning of a pretty dull joke, but it’s not. All of those things happened during our third week of Caraway Academy.
It’s great to see and hear about the learning taking place in each of the Caraway Academies. Last week some students worked out with a local yoga instructor, talked with a real life author, learned about fainting goats, and exploded volcanoes.

These in depth, unique experiences motivate and inspire students to continue learning outside of class. Their passion is overwhelming. One student reported that they have their own bird feeder and bird watching journal at home now. Another student said, “If I were president for a day, I would give all elementary schools academies."

We are looking forward to seeing more great products in the weeks to come. One Academy is planning on improving our school gardens, while another group is going to make toys for local animal shelters.
Great things are happening at Caraway on Friday mornings. If you would like to join us in inspiring passion please visit our “How Can I Help” page or check out the Caraway Academy Needs Sign Up Genius.
