THIS IS MEANT TO BE A FUN EVENT and an opportunity to involve everyone.
• We suggest you focus on one or two good pictures and no more than 10 words on a page.
• There is no need for a title page, however the first page should have your name (perhaps a mini face photograph) and topic. See example.
If you can not be here in person, then join us by video link and share your presentation virtually. There are a number of virtual presentation slots available (20 -- five per topic category) for students and teachers to use.
The 2019 conference was originally planned as a Festival , to be held earlier in the year, however the Christchurch attack event suggested that in respect for those people affected by the hateful racial/ideology driven attack, it was best to postpone. The Festival was later cancelled as everyone was too busy with sport and other events to sit down and rebuild the plan.
In late September a scaled back 'conference was held. The event kicked off with Ms. Clavo teaching how to cook/make/eat chicken adobo panlasang pinoy to ten VM leaders and their 10 kiwi buddies. Later in the day VM-Rosmini gathered with their friends from Westlake Girls High School to recognise the awarding of VM-Leadership pins for Terence Abdon (y13) and Alejandro Miguel (y12). Kevin Austria (y13)--was unable to attend and will be pinned later.
VM members shared their slide shows and we all ate a lot of pizza.
Our initial (2018) 70 minute conference was kicked off by leaders Renzo and Aeveran welcoming Mr. Cooper, our Principal, members of the senior management team, teachers and students. Mon. Sen Julius, President of Holy Cross College, Davao, was our special guest. Eighteen presentations featured a range of all things Filipino and there was lots of laughter throughout the programme. Presentations may be found further down the page... but one thing is for certain, we are going to do this again next year.
