Applicants to these vocational degree programmes are required to show an understanding of what the career involves. Many universities will therefore ask for relevant work experience as part of their criteria for application.
Work experience can take many forms: online activity or learning, shadowing a professional, voluntary work or a paid job. It is essential to have some experience of the environment within which these professionals operate, be able to articulate your experience and reflect on what you learnt from it.

Many universities offer summer courses, and this can be a great way to gain experience of the subject, institution and city/country.
