The Learning Commons, sometimes called an “information commons,” has evolved from a combination of library and mobile devices into a full-service learning, research, and project space. The Learning Commons brings together the functions of libraries, mobile labs, lounges, and seminar areas in a single community gathering place. The Learning Commons invites students to devise their own approaches to their work and to transfer what they learn in the classroom into a paper, project, or presentation.
A MakerSpace is a physical location where people gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, communicate ideas, and build. We will bring this idea of a collaborative studio space for creative endeavors and learning through hands-on exploration to FES for the 2016 – 17 school year.
