Our Library Learning Commons program:

- Engages students in a range of STEAM and problem solving activities tied to the curriculum
- Provides access to a wide variety of materials
- Involves students in the Nutmeg Book selection process
- Community building program for 4th and 5th graders - Book Nookers
FES Library / Learning Commons Procedures
- Students can come into the library throughout the day to return and browse for new books
- Students in grades one through five can have two books checkout for pleasure reading and additional books checked out for school projects or research
- Kindergarten students will start with a book exchange by taking out one book and then returning it. In January students can take out 2 books.
- Always be safe in the library
- Treat books with care
- Use shelf markers, feel free to look at any book on the shelf, but PLEASE use a shelf marker to mark your place. When you find what you want, put the shelf-marker back in its home at the circulation desk
- Return books on time or ask to renew them
- We ask that you try out different genres of books. If the book does not suit you, please return it for one more to your liking
- Students with lost or damaged books will need to provide compensation for a replacement book before a new book can be checked out
We want EVERYONE to enjoy the FES Library Learning Commons so please be respectful and kind to others, but most definitely ENJOY the learning that will take place!
