ACES

Richmond-Burton has a long history of success in academics and that has also carried over into academic competitions such as WYSE and ACES. For many years, the University of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign had sponsored the WYSE Academic Challenge. This competition gave students the opportunity to study and compete in two different subjects at a collegiate level of difficulty. The subjects consist of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, English, Mathematics, and Physics. Many students have found that participate in ACES offers a chance to review material from previous class and to also have an advantage over other students in college classes or during internships. 

Over the years, Richmond-Burton has several Regional and Sectional Championships, as well as 5 Team State Championships. RB has also had several individual state champions.

This is open to all RB students who wish to keep their skills honed or to learn more about a subject. There are Varsity and JV levels for students and all students will prepare to take two different subject tests, most of which have a coach to help them prepare. This is a great opportunity for students to spend time reviewing material, digging deeper into topics, and being part of a team that has had much success over the years.
