Today's Goal: Today I will be able to evaluate an expression containing values using substitution and following order of operations.
Algebra - A mathematical language that uses letters along with numbers. The letters stand for numbers that are unknown.
Variable - A symbol, usually a letter, used to represent a number. Any letter may be used as a variable
Algebraic Expression - A combination of variables, numbers, and at least one operation.
Evaluate - To find the value of an expression by replacing the variables with numbers.
In this example the variable is c and the given value for c is 6.
Substitute the 6 where the c is and then follow order of operations.
Online Quiz - Do 10 problems evaluating expressions using substitution.
Does X Solve? - You are given an expression and an possible solution. Does the solution make the equation true, yes or no?
Quia - Millionaire - Can you win $1,000,000? Give it a try.
