Region - The space inside a shape.
Area - the number of square units that covers a two-dimensional region, without any gaps or overlaps.
Tiling - Covering a 2-dimensional region with copies of the same shape or shapes.There are no gaps or overlaps.
Compose - to “put together.” We use this word to describe putting more than one figure together to make a new shape.
Decompose - to “take apart.” We use this word to describe taking a figure apart to make more than one new shape.
Rearrange - Change the placement or arrangement
Parallelogram - A type of quadrilateral that has two pairs of parallel sides.
base (of a parallelogram or triangle) - any side of a parallelogram or triangle. Sometimes we use this word to refer to the length of this side.
height (of a parallelogram or triangle) - The shortest distance from the base of the shape to the opposite side (for a parallelogram) or opposite vertex (for a triangle).
Vertex - A point where two or more edges meet.
Quadrilateral - A type of polygon that has 4 sides.
