English LS

English LS uses the curriculum content of the general education English classes. We will be reading the same novels, plays, etc., as the general education students, only at a slower pace and more in-depth. Lots of time is spent on learning vocabulary and grammar and improving basic reading and writing skills. There is a very strong emphasis on writing in the LS class. I teach with the presumption that the students could be placed in a general education English class next year if they have been successful and acquired the skills necessary this year.
