Import Classroom Information

After you log in for the first time, you should set up your classes. You can import your Google Classroom information using the "Import from Google Classroom" button on the main Classroom screen, then selecting "Allow" for Classroom access.

Create New Custom Classroom

You can also create classes manually with the "Create New Classroom" button. This would normally be for groups outside of normal classes (study groups, clubs, etc) that you want to use custom SiteBanks with. Select your apropriate duration, give the classroom a descriptive name, select the students that will be in this classroom, select an apropriate SiteBank (if necessary), select if you want to start the class viewing opened tabs or live screens (this can be changed later in the classroom as well), then set a schedule if you'd like the class to start and stop automatically.

There are two ways to view student's screens: Tab View and Screen View. Use the tabs at the top of the Classroom to switch between views. Tab View will list all of the Student's opened tabs. Limiting the number of tabs the student has open can make this view easier to read. The Screen View will show you their screen as the student sees it. You can click the down arrow in the top right corner of any screen and you’ll have more options to expand their screen to get a better look, or to take a screenshot if needed.

The Unblock Request tab is where you can unblock sites per student request.

If you choose to approve the unblock request, you can choose to unblock the site for the one student, or for the whole class. You can also set how long the site will be unblocked for, up to a week.

Share Links

Use the Share Links button to quickly send a website to your students. Enter or paste the URL to share in the Share Links box, then click Send. A tab for that website will open on Students' Chromebooks.

Using the Block SiteBank

The Block SiteBank gives you extra control over which websites are restricted in your classroom. This allows you to block websites in your classroom that would be otherwise allowed. For example, if YouTube were a distraction in your class, you can create a Block SiteBank, add youtube.com as a blocked page, then click "Save." 

When you apply this SiteBank, students will not be able to use YouTube for the duration of your class.

After you save your new SiteBank, you can now select it in your Classroom to apply it. Note that these blocks are only in effect while your class is active and running.

Using the Allow SiteBank

The Allow SiteBank is designed so that students can ONLY go to the websites you specify. ALL other pages will be blocked. This can be useful for assessments or focused projects where students need a distraction-free web environment.

Click "Create New Allow SiteBank"

On the next screen, give the SiteBank a descriptive name. If "Auto-Open Tabs" is on, when the class starts, a page will open on the Student's Chromebook with links to all of the websites you have added to the SiteBank to make resources easy to find. Add URLs for the resources you'd like to have available to class, then click "Save"

Once the SiteBank is saved, you can apply it to your Classes
