Plot

Brainstorm 3 different ways you could give this fairy tale a twist.

Choose 1 option and make a story map. Remember to include what the problem is, the points of tension or decision ao

Characters

Characters: List all the characters you will need. Think of a few defining characteristics about each, think about the way they would move, walk, talk and jot these down.

Setting

Where does your story take place? We will brainstorm some vocab together to describe your setting.

Using the vocab write an interesting, effective first paragraph that describes the setting and introduces the main character.

Problem

Write a second paragraph that introduces the problem.

Include dialogue

As you are writing the rest of you fairy tales include dialogue between the characters. Remember put speech marks around what is being said or thought.

Every time you use speech it needs to start with a capital letter.

Remember to add the comma. It comes either after the said or similar word if that comes before the speech, or after the speech when the said or similar word comes

second. e.g. Tom said, "Don't you think that's too big." or "Don't you think that's too big," said Tom.

You need to describe the action in between the speech. A conversation the just includes what the characters say without including describing how they move, their expressions and their actions becomes very tedious for the reader.
