A3 B3 Fairy Tales

Here is the traditional fairy tale Chicken Little

We are going to create a modern day Chicken Little Fairy Tale

1. Identify the main parts of the traditional story

2. Brainstorm some possible modern day versions of the plot. Decide on one and create a story map showing the main parts.

3. Characters: List all the characters you will need. Think of a few defining characteristics about each, think about the way they would move, walk, talk and jot these down.

4. Using the vocab provided write an interesting effective first paragraph that describes the setting and introduces the main character.

5. Write a second paragraph that introduces the problem.

6. Look at including speech.

Remember put speech marks around what is being said or thought.

Every time you use speech it needs to start with a capital letter.

Remember to add the comma. It comes either after the said or similar word if that comes before the speech, or after the speech when the said or similar word comes

second. e.g. Tom said, "Don't you think that's too big." or "Don't you think that's too big," said Tom.

7. You need to describe the action in between the speech. A conversation the just includes what the characters say without including describing how they move, their expressions and their actions becomes very tedious for the reader.
