Sensational Swimming
I wish I could go to the pools every day of the year but for now I'll just enjoy the last few lessons we have left. Maybe one day i'll be so good I could swim at the Olympics!
(Written by a group of students from Room 11 with the support of Miss Walters)
Once we arrived and were inside we all had to have a shower to rinse off any dirt before we could even get into the leisure pool. Next I heard Miss Walters say "you need to get into your 3 groups and wait patiently for the instructors". Finally it was time for our lesson.
I sat on the side of the pool and slid in safely. We get straight into it and I grab a kick-board and start splashing water everywhere as I practice my kicking. Then we move onto perfecting our freestyle stroke which i'm improving at. I lift my arm up then around and scoop the water just as if I was getting a scoop of chocolate ice-cream.
Swimming is so much fun and I am becoming a lot more confident in the water since I started having lessons.
Guess what Room 11 is doing for 2 weeks? Everyday after morning tea, my classmates and I will be walking over to the Glen Innes pools. We will be having swimming lessons so we can learn how to swim properly.
I thought swimming was going to be cancelled because it was raining hard. However I was wrong! First we all got changed into our swimming gear so that we could run in the rain all the way to the pools.
