Reporting to Parents

Pt England School takes the business of reporting to parents very seriously. We believe that one of the major keys to seeing our children succeed is having parents and families involved in the children's education. For this reason we make a real point of reporting to, consulting with and meeting parents & families in a wide variety of ways:

The Door is Always Open

We want our families to know that they can come come and talk at a time that is mutually convenient. Our school is open to you.

Enrolment Interviews

We have extensive enrolment interviews. Mrs Jarman, our Associate Principal conducts these. They cover a wide variety of topics, all designed to help you and your child have a successful education experience right from day one.

Interviews for Concern

Either the family or the school can organise an interview at any time there is anything that is causing concern. This is a really good thing to do as it can often prevent little things turning into big things. You can make an interview appointment either through the office or via your child's teacher.

Meet the Teacher

This event is held in the first couple of weeks every year. It's a great opportunity for teachers and families to get to know each other and talk over the hopes they have for the children that we share. Please come and meet us. -we really appreciate it!

Mid Year Survey

There is a written mid-year survey that will be given to you at the parent - teacher interviews. We view these interviews as being a very important way for the school and family to work together to help the child. Usually more than 95% of our parents attend these interviews, so obviously you believe they are important too! Thank-you for your support!

End of Year Report

We send home an extensive end of year report. The reports contain a great deal of detailed information. This is because our parents asked us for this and because many of our children go on to attend schools that are outside our community and the parents of our older children want the schools they are going to, to receive detailed information.

Camps and Trips

Coming to help on a school outing or event is a great way to get feedback about the school and find out first hand how your child is getting on. We love having parent helpers, and generally those parents have a very good idea how their children are doing. Do come and help us!

Blogs, Class sites

A great way for parents to catch up with what their children are learning and doing is to access the class sites or blogs. Finished work is shared on the blogs and anyone can have a look and leave a positive message for the student to encourage them and make them feel valued.

Sites and blogs can be accessed from the home page of this school website.

Home-School Partnership

We regularly report to parents at the Home School Partnership meetings. These are held twice a term @ 7:00 pm in the school hall

Newsletters

We send lots of newsletters home during the year. - Usually between 35 & 40 of them! Do remember to check in your child's schoolbag. - You never know what you might find under an uneaten lunch or an odd shoe! - Probably a newsletter someone forgot to give you! If you think you may have missed a newsletter, check this website because all the newsletters end up here as well.

Remember; -the door's always open!
