Ugly can be Beautiful

I am an ICT lead teacher at Amesbury School in Wellington. This school opened at the beginning of 2012 and is a purpose built 21st century environment. In my role as ICT lead teacher I have rolled out Google Apps For Education. We use a variety of Google tools so that the students can self organise and manage their learning.
We also use Google Sites for our planning that we make available for all the world to see along with our class blog.
We are currently working on using Google tools to create a Self Organised and Minimally Invasive assessment system. This is largely achieved through Google docs, forms, and blogger. Students use Google docs weekly as a reflective tool. We (teachers and students) are also working on ‘snappers’ that are housed on blogger.
Prior to teaching at Amesbury School in Wellington, I taught at Bairds Mainfreight Primary School in Otara, South Auckland, where (with Google Apps) we achieved the same quality teaching and learning in a decile 1a traditional teaching environment.
