Subtractors are working in the Early Additive Stage and aiming towards the Advanced Additive Strategy Level.

We are working on solving addition and subtraction problems by using mutliple strategies such as:

• • Jumping the Number Line

  • Adding the ones and tens seperately when appropriate

  • Reversing problems and then using an appropriate method

  • Adjusting one number to the nearest hundred

We are learning how many tens, hundreds, thousands there are in numbers over 1000.

We are learning how to solve Multiplication problems using multiple strategies such as:

• • Splitting Factors 28 x 7 = (20 x 7) + (8 x 7)

  • Rounding and Compensating 5 x 68 = (5 x 70) - (5 x 2)

  • Proportional Adjustment 3 x 27 = 9 x 9
