Dividers are working in the Advanced Counting Stage and aiming towards the Early Additive Strategy Level.

We are working on solving addition and subtraction problems by using strategies instead of our fingers. Some of these strategies are:

• • Knowing basic addition and subtraction facts to 20

  • Splitting numbers to make Tidy Tens

  • Adding the ones and tens seperately when appropriate

  • Reversing problems and then using an appropriate method

We are learning to count forwards and backwards from any number less than 100. We are learning to identify numbers to 1000. We are also learning how many ones, tens and hundreds there are in numbers less than 1000.

We are learning how to solve Multiplication and Division problems by:

• • Using Addition

  • Skip counting

  • Using our knowledge of 2's, 5's and 10's times tables

  • Skip counting

  • Making equal shares
