Course Content:
Our class will be based on readings and notes from the textbook and a variety of outside sources. We will have many homework assignments, in class assignments, projects, group projects, quizzes, and tests. Students will have the opportunity to improve their reading and communication skills through in class readings and classroom discussion over the assigned readings. Writing skills will be enhanced through essay questions on our in class tests and bell ringer questions. Much attention will also be given to the development of critical thinking skills and map analysis. Primary source documents will also be studied throughout class.
Attendance:
If you miss a class it is your responsibility to contact me about the assigned work in which you missed. I will not seek you out. Use your PACE time wisely. I will usually be in my classroom before 7:30 a.m. every day if a problem arises and you need help. If you need to take a test we will set up a date that works for both of us. The students are allowed the number of days they missed to finish the assigned homework for the days they missed.
Late Work Policy:
My late work policy is you may turn in an assignment late one class after it is due for 50% credit.
Student Evaluation:
Your final grade will be based on a combination of tests, quizzes, homework assignments, and class participation. Test questions will be worth 2 points and all other homework grades will be worth 1 point per question or point total established by a rubric.
