Henry Holt Memorial Scholarship

The Henry Holt Memorial Scholarship, established in 2021, has been created to honor the memory of Mr. Henry Holt, a long time teacher and friend of the Polo School District. His family wishes to celebrate his life and remember his dedication to his family, friends, school and community with an annual scholarship to a graduating senior.
Recipients of the scholarship will be chosen each year by the members of the Polo Educational Foundation based on various criteria outlined below. The award amounts may vary from year to year and will be paid directly to the higher education institution the recipient(s) chooses to attend.
The guidelines and criteria for selecting the award recipients are as follows:
The recipient must be a graduating senior from Polo High School.
The recipient must plan to pursue a program of study in a STEM related field at an accredited institution of higher learning.
The Polo Educational Foundation will use the Polo General Scholarship Application to choose a recipient. (linked above)
Jill Rardon Memorial Scholarship And Dalton Rardon Memorial Scholarship

The Jill Rardon Memorial Scholarship recognizes one outstanding senior to honor the memory of Jill, a 12 year language arts teacher, track coach, and 1986 Polo High School graduate. Mrs. Rardon‘s passion for teaching and coaching demonstrated her commitment to the students and their success. She valued her faith, family, community, and school. A $500 scholarship will be awarded in her memory to help further the education of one deserving Polo High School graduate. The Dalton Shane Rardon Memorial Scholarship, established in 2014, has been created to honor the memory of Dalton Rardon, a 2010 graduate of Polo High School. His family wishes to celebrate his life as a student, athlete, teacher, and coach and his passion for his family, friends, school, church, and community, by presenting an annual scholarship to a graduating senior. A $500 scholarship will be awarded in his memory to help further the education of a deserving Polo High School senior. Scholarship uses the Polo General/Local scholarship app that is linked above.
Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Due Date 11/12/2025
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2024 competition.
Male and female students compete separately.
Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.
Eligibility:
Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.

NHS Scholarship

Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $25 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, we are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

JCI Senate Scholarships 2025/2026

The United States Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation will award $1500 or $2000 scholarship grants to graduating high school seniors who will continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college or university. Scholarships of $1000 will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who will attend an accredited vocational, technical or trade school program.
The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study following high school graduation. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and will be paid directly to the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.

MSF (Missouri State Fair) Youth in Agriculture Scholarship

The Missouri State Fair and the Youth in Agriculture Committee are accepting applications for Youth in Agriculture scholarships for Missouri high school seniors graduating in 2026. The application form can be found on the Fair’s website. (Link is found below)
Applications should be submitted to the Missouri State Fair and must be postmarked by January 16, 2024. Applicants must submit an original copy of their application and three additional copies.
Applicants must be high school seniors, active members of Missouri 4-H or FFA, and have participated at least once as a 4-H or FFA exhibitor at the Missouri State Fair. Selected students must enroll (fall and/or spring semester immediately following graduation from high school) in an accredited community college, college or university.

Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley/MUSIC Scholarship (Missouri United School Insurance Council)

The Missouri United School Insurance Council (MUSIC) encourages you to apply for the Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley/MUSIC Scholarships. The funding of the scholarships is provided by proceeds from the golf tournament and corporate donations. Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley was MUSIC’s first Executive Director. As a school business official with the Mehlville School District and president of MOASBO, he worked with the Arthur J Gallagher Company and others to create the MUSIC Program in 1985. Jack served as the Executive Director for twelve years developing/enhancing coverages, expanding services and growing the program to include close to 500 school districts, community colleges and educational associations before retiring. Sadly Dr. Holley passed away in 2022, and we are all very proud and honored to continue providing these scholarships in his name. MUSIC members are designated into three enrollment size categories: small, medium and large. Six scholarships (two in each category) of $2,000.00 each (nonrenewable) will be awarded to 2024 graduating seniors of districts that are MUSIC members.
Our school can CHOOSE ONE application to be submittd for consideration. Please complete the application essay and turn in no later that January 14th to Mrs. Walker in order for your application to be included in the selection process. The Polo R-VII School Board will choose our candidate during the January board meeting on January 21st.

Tabo Seed, LLC is offering two scholarships of $500 each to high school seniors for the 2025-2026 school year. We are a family farm and agriculture business located east of Lexington, Missouri.

Hedrick Medical Center 2026 Harkness Schoalrship

Awards $1000
The scholarship aims to support and encourage individuals in the surrounding rural communities who have chosen to become a physician, according to the news release.
This year, two students will be selected for scholarships totaling up to $1,000 per recipient. Eligible candidates must be high school students accepted to a 6-year medical school or an undergraduate accepted into medical school, a current medical student or resident and have completed 20 hours of community service.
Applicants must be from one of the following counties: Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Daviess, Mercer, Grundy, Harrison, Livingston, Linn, Mercer, Putnam, Ray, Saline, and Sullivan. Applicants are required to write a short essay and include two letters of recommendation.

YQCA is excited to announce the 2025 Scholarship Program available to high school seniors and students enrolled in a 2-4 year university or certification program. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must be a high school senior up to 21 year of age and In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must

Have an active YQCA certification at the time of application (2025).
Have had active YQCA certification the previous two years (2023, 2024).
As a high school senior, the essay question regarding your future plans to enter the agriculture industry or commitment to a university will be considered for eligibility. If you are selected, you must provide proof of enrollment to receive the award.

Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship

The Missouri Bankers Foundation established a scholarship program for high school students pursuing a banking related degree program in college. These scholarships help prepare the next generation of Missouri banking leaders. Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to seven high school students for their first semester tuition payment and/or college expenses. One scholarship recipient will be chosen from each of the seven MBA geographical regions. These scholarships are made possible through the John W. Rogers Memorial, the Willis W. The Shelter Insurance Foundation Agents’ Scholarship Program annually awards scholarships to
graduating high school seniors in communities with a Shelter Mutual Insurance Company agent
participating in the program.
Shelter Insurance Agent Whitney Whitt is sponsoring the Shelter Insurance Foundation Agents’ Scholarship Program at Polo High School in 2025.
The highlights of the program are:
• $1,500 scholarships awarded annually to graduating seniors who attend high schools that are
approved and accredited by that state’s Departments of Education.
• The scholarship will be paid directly to any accredited college, university, or trade school in
which the scholarship recipient has enrolled, by the September following their high school
graduation, to apply toward tuition, fees, books, and on-campus housing charges.
• A local selection committee of three to five people consisting of high school officials and
leaders of the business and/or professional community will consider applicants’ scholastic
achievement, participation and leadership in school and community activities, citizenship,
moral character, educational goals, and financial need.
• Scholarships will be given without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national
origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, genetic information or any
other classification protected by federal, state or local law. Children of any Shelter Insurance®

Applicants must show academic and leadership abilities and rank in the top 30% of his/her high school graduating class. Recipients must enroll in a degree program at a trade school or college. This $300 scholarship is renewable for 4 successive years with a GPA of 2.5 and seeking first degree or certificate. Parents of the applicant must have had an active membership for the past three years with the Ray County Farm Bureau and reside in Ray County.

Graduating seniors in Caldwell, Clinton, Daviess, Dekalb, and Harrison counties are eligible for this renewable scholarship. You must be entering an acceptable health care field of study on a full-time basis in the fall of of 2025. Final selecction will be based on the following criteria: A minimum ACT score of 20, high school GPA, goals, school/community involvement, earning/saving efforts, and need. Lloyd Wallace Foundation Scholarship

The Lloyd Wallace Foundation is a local charitable organization that provides secondary scholarships to area high school graduates. You must be attending post secondary education to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity. You must provide a completed paper copy to Mrs. Walker. A completed copy must ALSO be emailed to LLoydWallaceFoundation@gmail.com or mailed to PO Box 37, Braymer, MO 64424. In the Subject line please indicate what high school you are from. Also, while not on the form, please indicate how you are funding your college experience. If you would like Mrs. Walker to email or mail your copy please let me know.

Norma J "SIS" McDaniel Scholarship
Due Date 4/20/2025
Norma Jean McDaniel (Sis) was born in 1933 and graduated from Jamesport High School in May of 1951. In 1952, Sis obtained her teaching certificate and worked for the Tri-County R-7 school district. In 1951, 1952, 1954 and 1955, Sis pitched and won all the games in the Western regional softball tournament and won the most valuable player award. In 1952, she pitched in the world tournament in Toronto, Canada. In 1955, she pitched two no-hit games in the same day and won All-American status at the world tournament in Portland, Oregon. The KC Dons went to the national tournament 8 times while Sis was a pitcher.
In 1958, she was inducted into the Wyandotte County Hall of Fame for her participation with the KC Dons softball team. Sis worked for the Kansas City, Kansas, Parks and Recreation Department as their sports director for 42 years.
CRITERIA:
• Must be a senior in high school and played high school softball senior year
• Ability as an athlete may not be a factor in awarding scholarships
• Attending a Missouri college or university in the fall of 2024 to play softball OR to obtain a
degree in a sports related field
REQUIREMENTS
The five (5) enclosures listed below are to be included. Applicants will NOT be considered
unless ALL attachments are enclosed with the application and POSTMARKED BY APRIL 20th.
1. Recommendation and letter signed by high school coach
2. Recommendation and letter signed by high school counselor
3. Acceptance letter to a Missouri college or university
4. Photo for publication (in softball uniform)
5. Copy of letter of intent to play softball at college or university (unless pursuing a sports
related degree)
5. Essay from the applicant stating her desire for such aid in order to assist the Scholarship
Committee in evaluating the application.
For example, list any jobs held; extra‐curricular activities; goals for the future; impact of softball
etc.
Do not send any materials other than the required items listed above. Send application and
ALL required enclosures POSTMARKED BY NO LATER THAN APRIL 20th of the current high

Leadership Northwest Missouri Scholarship

Leadership Northwest’s mission is to build, strengthen, and inspire leaders in the Northwest region of Missouri. Through funds primarily generated through the annual Music Jam, a Class 2021 project, Leadership Northwest is able to provide scholarships to new, emerging leaders. We hope these young leaders continue to make a positive difference in their community and in Northwest Missouri. At least one scholarship will be awarded to a graduate from a high school located in Grundy County, which is the host county for the Music Jam. The scholarship is not eligible for renewal. Awards will be sent directly to the institution.
Criteria:
-Must reside in one of the following 19 counties: Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, - Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Sullivan, and Worth
- Applicant must be a 2024 graduate of a high school located in one of the 19 counties
- Applicant must be admitted to a vocational school, community college, 4-year college, or university and enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
- Applications must be received by April 1 st via email to: leadershipnorthwestmissouri@gmail.com
- Award recipients agree to have their name and picture shared publicly

MOFELP
The Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation offers an interest-free, fee-free loan. MOFELP is for Missouri students attending an eligible Missouri higher education institution. This loan option is used to help fill the gap
after federal loans and other financial aid has been applied. Highlights include: 0% interest, max. $5000 per
year for four years, $0 fees, and $5 keep-in-touch payments required. To be eligible, students must be full-time,
have $12,000 or less expected family contribution, be from Missouri, and have either a 21 ACT or 2.5 GPA.
Students can check with the financial aid office at the college they attend or contact MOFELP.moslf.org/programs.aspx
