Compare and contrast one of these areas of life from the 1900 to 2022: 5-10 minute video presentation – DUE FRI 2/17   – cite both primary and secondary sources for your research – you will need a bibliography

FRI 2/3 - MON 2/6 -  What problems did the U.S. face as it moved into the 1980’s? - Why was Ronald Reagan so widely popular as president? Describe 2 of his successes and 2 of his failures. In what ways were the 1980’s different than the previous two decades? - Analyze the fall of the USSR. To what extent did the U.S. and the administrations of Reagan and Bush contribute to the collapse of the Soviet Union? How has the demise of the Soviet Union altered the U. S. at home and America’s place in the world? Cite one example for each.  

TUES 2/7 - WED 2/8 – Describe the Persian Gulf War. What have been the consequences of it? Why was Bill Clinton able to defeat George Bush in 1992? - Describe Clinton’s greatest successes and his greatest failures. Was Clinton’s impeachment largely a political effort to highlight his personal failings, or did the charges reflect genuine constitutional issues? Compare his impeachment with the issues that Nixon and Trump faced. Columbine and the increase in school shootings.

THURS 2/9 - FRI 2/10 - MON 2/13 - Examine George W. Bush’s administration. How has 9/11 changed the U.S.? Analyze President Obama’s and President Trump's administration. What are their success and failures?

TUES 2/14 - MUSIC QUIZ - 1980'S -PRESENT 

WED 2/15 - List two events from your lifetime for each year beginning in 2005. Besides COVID, what event do you feel had the most significant impact on the U.S.? Why? - YOU MAY USE EVENTS FROM LOCAL ,STATE, NATIONAL, INTERNATIONAL EVENTS. Bullet points are acceptable if it is a well known event. The most significant event should be in paragraph form. DUE - WED 2/15

THURS 2/16 - Test chapters 39-41 – ESSAY – As we look into the future, what do you believe are the 3 most critical problems/issues the U.S. faces going forward and why? - DUE  THURS 2/16
