19. Don't forget to convert to m/s! Otherwise your units won't match up. Use the orange equation equation to solve for the Final velocity. (>30)
20. Use the orange equation equation to solve for the time. (>5)
21. Use the orange equation equation to solve for the time. (<10)
26. You are given the initial velocity and final velocity as well as the acceleration. Since you're looking time, use the oorange equation. (<10)
September 14th, 2016 Pg. 69 #27-29
27. You are given the initial and final velocities as well as the distance. Since you're solving for time, use the red equation. (>300)
28. You are given the initial and final velocities as well as the time. Since you're solving for distance, use the red equation. (<10)
29. You are given the final velocity, time and distance. Use the red equation to solve for initial velocity. (<1)
September 15th , 2016 pg. 71 #34, 36, 37, 39
34. You are given the initial and final velocities as well as the distance. Use the green equation to find the acceleration.(<2)
36. You are given the initial and final velocities as well as the time. Use the red equation to find the distance while accelerating. THEN use the blue equation to find how far she traveled at that constant speed. Add the two together to get the total distance (>30).
37.You are given the initial velocity, the displacement and the acceleration. Use the green equation to solve for the final velocity. (>70)
39. a. You are given the initial velocity, time and acceleration of the plane. Use the purple equation to solve for the distance traveled. (>1250) b. Now you have a lot more information (you could use the green, red or orange equations), but just to be sure you get it right, use just the information you were initially given and ignore the fact you know the distance so try the orange equation. (<100)
September 20th, 2016 pg. 75 #49, 50, 51 pg. 81 #78, 81, pg. 89
49. You know the negative displacement that the keys fell, as well as the fact that they were dropped from rest and accelerated by gravity. Use the green equation to solve for the final velocity. (>9)
50. Remember that it took 3 seconds to go up and come back down! You know that the final velocity at the max height is zero, that gravity is pulling down on it and the time it took. Use the orange equation to solve for the initial velocity. (<15)
51. Now that you know the initial velocity, you can use the green, purple or red equations to solve for the distance.
78. You don't need to calculate anything but listing your variables might help.
89. a. Given the initial velocity, acceleration and time, find the displacement using the purple equation. (>40) b. Same set up as (a) but change the time. (>40)
September 21st, 2016 pg. 85 #1-6 and Distracted Driving Worksheet
1. Since its deccelerating or slowing down you should get a negative acceleration. (<10)
Scenario 1:
2. Remember before you start to brake you are traveling a constant velocity.(<10)
3. In this problem you are slowing down to 0 m/s from 11.2 m/s. (<10)
Scenario 2:
6. Remember before you start to brake you are traveling a constant velocity.(>10)
Scenario 3:
9. Remember before you start to brake you are traveling a constant velocity.(>10)
10. In this problem you are slowing down to 0 m/s from 26.8 m/s. (>40)
Scenario 4:
13. Remember before you start to brake you are traveling a constant velocity.(>40)
