Guitar String 3 Skill Checklist

All Previous Skills AND...

• Locate G in two places on the staff and label as an octave

• Utilize 2nd finger to play A on string 3

• Perform music with anacruses and tied notes

• Read and perform dotted half note, (whole note, quarter note, half note, quarter rest) rhythms in 4/4 and ¾ time

• Perform accurately simple 8-16 measure songs on String 1, 2, and 3 while singing

• Demonstrate consistently proper technique and responsibilities for left and right hand

• Understand proper technique and responsibilities for left and right hand

• Perform 3-note G, C, and D chords in different strumming combinations with a pick

• Translate music on the staff into guitar tablature

• Read and perform music from guitar tablature

• Compare and contrast two songs based on the same melody

• Perform a duet with another player
