Many grade levels use many different means of contact. However, I try to go with school trends in order to streamline communication for parents' sake:
Class Dojo
School-wide announcement or things that affect multiple grade levels, Class Dojo has been the easiest way to distribute information. It has not proven to be easy to check messages because students are assigned to their homeroom teacher's Dojo and messages do not always pop up for me as a "collaborating teacher." Also, Dojo does not seem to be used for Middle School very frequently.
Google Classroom
Announcements for students in ensembles have traditionally been through the REMIND app. However, I am currently transitioning to Google Classroom as a means to distribute information to students and parents alike (Classroom has streamlined gmail functions that allow me to email all parents in a class simultaneously) as well as posting assignments and resources for students.
Gmail
To be honest, I get more email than I can keep up with. Currently, my inbox has 2,456 unread emails. Most of these unread emails are systemic announcements from PGCPS or my music supervisors (being K-8 I get all elementary AND middle school emails) and are not relevant to my day-to-day operations. However, they do occasionally "bury" parent emails in my inbox which means I might have missed your message.
